William Calhoun

President, Mercy Medical Center

CalhounBill150.jpgWilliam (Bill) Calhoun became president of Mercy Medical Center in August 2007, and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the 157-bed facility. Mercy Medical Center provides total health care to the Oshkosh community, including emergency/trauma care and surgical services, cardiology, oncology, orthopaedics, intensive care, obstetrics and neurosurgery.

Bill has 19 years of experience in health care administration. Prior to joining Affinity Health System, he was senior vice president and chief operating officer of The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle, Maine. Previously, Bill worked at Howard Young Health Care in Woodruff, Wis. Howard Young is an affiliate of Ministry Health Care, Milwaukee, and one of two Affinity Health System sponsors.

A Wisconsin native, Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and his master’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.

Bill is a Fellow of the American college of Healthcare Executives.
